During Tactical Missions, many of Storm's powerful wind- and lightning-based abilities feature a new "Next Turn" keyword that adds extra effects or makes the existing abilities more powerful if you hold onto them for a turn before using them. Chaining attacks hit additional targets, Knockbacks become Forceful, and area-of-effect attacks have a larger radius, for example. As you play with Storm and she becomes more friendly with the Hunter, she also gains an increased chance to Stun enemies when attacking them.
Blood Storm, which is now available to purchase separately on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, is the fourth and final DLC pack included in the Marvel's Midnight Suns Season Pass.
*Blood Storm is included with the Legendary Edition of Marvel's Midnight Suns and is included as part of the Marvel's Midnight Suns Season Pass. Also available for individual purchase. Base game required. Storm content is unlocked via gameplay.

Generally regarded as one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, Storm, real name Ororo Munroe, was orphaned at a young age and taken in by a village priestess while traveling to her mother's home in Kenya. When their village was suffering during a drought, Ororo summoned rain in an attempt to help. Although her mutant power of weather manipulation had negative consequences elsewhere in the region, the village people worshiped her as a rain goddess.
Years later, when word of her ability to control the weather had spread, Ororo was recruited to the X-Men by Charles Xavier and took the name Storm. She went on to lead the X-Men, using her mutant abilities to help people all over the world. While searching for an endangered mutant child in New York with Wolverine, Storm meets up with Magik, who encourages her to join the Midnight Suns.
Storm's powerful mutant arsenal includes wind- and lightning-based abilities that stun or knock back enemies and deal damage befitting the elemental forces at work. Many of Storm's ability cards feature a new "Next Turn" keyword that adds extra effects or makes the existing abilities more powerful if you wait one turn before using them. Benefits of waiting a turn run the gamut from additional damage and increased area-of-effect radius to drawing more Storm cards and applying Counter to all allies. As Storm becomes more friendly with the Hunter, she has an increased chance to Stun any enemy she targets with an attack or heroic ability.

Morbius has been attempting to cure his own strain of vampirism in the sewers beneath the city, but his laboratory and the serum he was working on there have been seized by Hydra. Now that the third Marvel's Midnight Suns DLC—The Hunger—is available*, the living vampire is ready to join the Midnight Suns in their fight against the forces of evil.
In addition to introducing Morbius as a playable character, The Hunger DLC adds new story missions. Morbius teams up with Blade, Spider-Man, and other Midnight Suns heroes to deal with NYC's ongoing vampyre problem, as well as the sinister forces working in the shadows to lessen the bloodsuckers' sensitivity to sunlight. To access Morbius' story missions, you must first complete the "Spidermaaaans" story mission and see Spider-Man unmasked in the Abbey during the base game's first act. This will also give you the option to upgrade the Abbey to incorporate Morbius' Laboratory, which can be used to tailor heroes' secondary stats to your playstyle.
Morbius' storyline is separate from the events of the main game, but once you beat the new "Weird Science" mission and he joins the Midnight Suns, you're free to include him when assembling a team for any Tactical Mission. You can also customize Morbius' appearance with options including 3 additional Hero Skins, 7 Abbey Outfits, and 3 Swimsuits.
During Tactical Missions, Morbius' vampiric nature manifests as a new Bloodlust card that's added to your hand any time you fill his unique Hunger meter by using his other abilities. Playing the Bloodlust card empowers Morbius by adding a Bleed effect to all of his subsequent damage-dealing abilities for as long as his Block remains above 0. Several of Morbius' abilities are more potent or have additional effects when you use them against Bleeding enemies, so it's good to prevent would-be attackers from knocking him out of his Bloodlust state.
The Hunger, which is now available to purchase separately on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, is the third of four DLC packs included in the Marvel's Midnight Suns Season Pass.
*The Hunger is included with the Legendary Edition of Marvel's Midnight Suns and is included as part of the Marvel's Midnight Suns Season Pass. Also available for individual purchase. Base game required. Morbius content is unlocked via gameplay.

Abandoned by Lilith following his defeat by the Midnight Suns, Venom has been roaming the sewer tunnels under New York City, feasting on the vampyres introduced in The Good, the Bad, and the Undead DLC to rebuild his strength. Now that the second Marvel's Midnight Suns DLC—Redemption—is available*, you can harness that strength by adding Venom to your roster.
In addition to introducing Venom as a playable character, the Redemption DLC adds new story missions in which Hunter and Spider-Man team up with Venom to tackle NYC's burgeoning vampyre infestation. To access Venom's story missions, you must first defeat Fallen Venom and complete the subsequent "Shattering Expectations" mission. This will also give you the option to upgrade the Abbey to incorporate Venom host Eddie Brock's Whisper Web, which can be used to add modifiers to missions.
Venom's storyline is separate from the events of the main game, but once you beat the new "The Devil's Due" mission and he joins the Midnight Suns, you're free to include him when assembling a team for any Tactical Mission. The "World's Best Turduckens" it promises might never materialize, but the Discard ability it affords you during Tactical Missions can be a lifesaver.
Once the food truck is in position, you can Discard a card to gain an additional Move once per encounter. The Move can only be used on the same turn that you Discard, but that's a small price to pay if one of your heroes would otherwise be elbow-to-elbow with an explosion. Furthermore, the food truck can be upgraded so that Discarding a card gains you a Shove as well as a Move. Moving a hero away from harm feels good, but moving an enemy into harm's way feels even better!
This Abbey upgrade is part of "The Good, the Bad, and the Undead" DLC, which also adds Deadpool to the Midnight Suns roster. This DLC can be purchased individually or as part of the Marvel's Midnight Suns Season Pass (a copy of Marvel's Midnight Suns is also required to play).

A talented athlete and martial artist, Wade Wilson joined the US Army Special Forces as soon as he was old enough to leave home, but was kicked out for refusing to follow orders that didn't align with his moral code. Following a subsequent spell as a globetrotting mercenary assassin, Wade was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer and volunteered for the Canadian government's Weapon X program, which was attempting to imbue a regular human with Wolverine's mutant healing factor. The procedure was considered a success; Wade's healing factor heals him more quickly than cancer can kill him, but since his cancerous cells can never die, his body is permanently covered in welts and scars.
Aside from his superhuman healing factor, Deadpool is known for being unstable and unpredictable, loving Mexican food, and frequently breaking the fourth wall with an endless supply of witty banter. Deadpool is fully aware that he's in a video game, having successfully campaigned to join the Midnight Suns on social media by promising everything from katana skills and ninja reflexes to zany quips and a mean pancake recipe.
Deadpool is armed with two semiautomatic pistols, dual katanas, and frag grenades—but it's his ability to passively heal a percentage of his health each turn as well as his unique En Fuego resource that make him such an effective addition to your Midnight Suns team. Most of Deadpool's abilities deal damage to individual enemies; as he KOs them, it fills his En Fuego meter to buff any of his ability cards that include the En Fuego keyword. Depending on the card in question and how many stacks of En Fuego Deadpool currently has, buffs include increased damage, reduced Heroism cost, status effect duration, and more.

An intellectual but introverted child, Bruce Banner was raised by his aunt following the tragic murder of his mother by his abusive father right in front of him. Bruce repressed this childhood trauma and grew up to become a highly regarded nuclear scientist at the United States Defense Department where he designed a new gamma bomb. It was during an experimental detonation of that weapon that Bruce, while attempting to rescue a civilian who had strayed into the area, was hit with a massive blast of gamma radiation. As a result, his pre-existing dissociative identity disorder now manifests as a physical transformation into the Hulk that he has yet to gain full control of.
The Hulk is one of the most powerful beings in the universe, with immense physical strength that increases with his rage. Throughout his storied history he has bested several of the Midnight Suns, including Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Wolverine. But he didn't fare so well against Lilith; now that she has turned him into one of her demonic thralls and imbued him with infernal power, recruiting him to your roster will be no small feat.
Hulk's offensive abilities grow more powerful with his Rage, which he gains whenever he takes damage from an enemy's attack. Rage is expended every time Hulk attacks, so taunting enemies into focusing on him not only keeps allies from harm, but also helps to sustain his Rage. Hulk doesn't lose Rage when he's healed by allies, but expends all of it when using his Always Angry ability to self-heal.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is now available for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Set in the darker, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game that blends rich storytelling and relationship building with a revolutionary card-based combat system. As the Hunter, the only hero ever to have defeated Lilith eons ago, you get to fight alongside and forge friendships with Blade, Doctor Strange, Nico Minoru, and Spider-Man, as well as other members of The Avengers, X-Men, and Runaways.
Turn-based tactical missions fought on constantly changing battlefields require you to think strategically every step of the way. Whether you're repositioning one of your heroes, playing one of their unique ability cards, or looking for opportunities to use the environment to your advantage, every decision counts. The choices you make when hanging out and chatting with other heroes in and around the Abbey between missions also have consequences, as befriending heroes is a great way to unlock powerful combo abilities and passive bonuses that come into play when you fight alongside them.
From hanging out with iconic Super Heroes in the Abbey to taking on Hydra and the demonic forces of Lilith in tactical combat, there is much to discover in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We hope you enjoy every minute of your experience with the game!

With the December 2 release of Marvel's Midnight Suns fast approaching, members of the Firaxis development team recently took time out of their busy schedules to appear on a series of live streams. The ensuing card-based combat during tactical missions afforded great opportunities to see heroes including Blade, Magik, Wolverine, and others show off their skills on the battlefield and learn more about the numerous activities that you can enjoy in and around the Abbey between battles.
If you missed out on any of the action-packed gameplay and developer insights that were shared during these live streams, you can watch archives of all four below.
Hulk is shown for the first time after being revealed as the 13th (late-game unlockable) hero on the base game's Midnight Suns roster, and Creative Director Jake Solomon attempts to beat a tactical mission on the hardest of Marvel's Midnight Suns' eight difficulty settings.
Members of the Firaxis development team share a first look at some of the activities you can enjoy when you're not battling Lilith's demonic forces. Also, Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis almost gets beaten at his own game while playing through one of three very different tactical missions.
Join the Firaxis developers for a deep dive into strategic combat as they play through tactical missions and discuss how heroes and their respective ability cards can be upgraded as you progress through the game. Later, Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm are revealed as the four heroes joining the roster in the Season Pass DLC next year.
Creative Director Jake Solomon and Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis play through two tactical missions while discussing combat mechanics, how the Midnight Suns roster was chosen, why heroes' abilities are represented by cards, and more.

"Nico went from her role as leader of the Runaways, taking responsibility for a group of people younger than herself, to becoming the newest and youngest member of the Midnight Suns," explains Firaxis Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored all five of the Prequel Shorts. ","localeCode":"en-US","content":"During a recent live stream, members of the Firaxis development team played through three very different tactical missions featuring card-based combat and shared a first look at some of the activities you can enjoy in Marvel's Midnight Suns when you're not battling against Lilith's demonic forces. Creative Director Jake Solomon, Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis, and Senior Producer Rachel Sima covered a lot of features that haven't been discussed previously this time around, so get comfortable and enjoy the archive of the entire livestream below. Note that some characters and skins featured require unlocking via gameplay.
For their first tactical mission, the Firaxis folks chose to team the Hunter up with Blade and Magik. This afforded us an opportunity to learn more about how the Hunter can be customized to use Light abilities, Dark abilities, or some combination of both.
"The Hunter isn't just customizable in terms of their appearance," Jake explained. "They're also customizable in terms of gameplay. The Hunter has over three times as many abilities as the other heroes because we want you to be able to choose how your Hunter plays in combat. The Light branch is more about healing and supporting your squadmates, while the Dark branch is about being very powerful and doing a lot of damage—but at a cost to you and your squadmates."
The other two tactical missions shown included the first reveal of a story mission, the first on-stream Midnight Suns team to include Scarlet Witch, and even an unexpected first look at one of Hydra's deadliest agents. Powerful enemies known as Nest Mothers and the Revenant also made their on-stream debuts, and came dangerously close to beating Garth at his own game on this occasion.
Between missions, we toured different areas of the Abbey and its grounds. So many new features were shown and discussed that you'll need to watch the archive of the stream to learn about all of them. To mention just a few, highlights included using the heroes' Superlink social network, unlocking new abilities at the Forge, painting landscapes with Robbie Reyes, meeting the ghost of Agatha Harkness, and having a conversation about whether Blade has a crush on Captain Marvel that probably could've gone better.
Check back just a few days before the December 2 release of Marvel's Midnight Suns for the next Firaxis live stream. Between seeing the “secret” 13th hero in action for the first time and watching Jake attempt to beat a tactical mission on the hardest difficulty, it's sure to be a good one!

Today we're excited to share the second Prequel Short, which sees Magik putting her Soulsword and other powerful abilities to work while combating Soulless enemies and subsequently being recruited to the Midnight Suns by Scarlet Witch.
"In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Scarlet Witch is one of the few people Magik trusts," explains Firaxis Games Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored this Prequel Short. "Magik graduated from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters a few years prior to the events shown here. After a short time with the X-Men and the New Mutants, she departed to battle some personal demons—in her case, a literal reminder of her past. Though she was raised in the magical realm of Limbo, the details of her time there and how she escaped differ from her classic comic book origins. She begins the game as both a founding member of the Midnight Suns and the undisputed Queen of Limbo."

Creative Director Jake Solomon, Lead Designer Joe Weinhoffer, and Senior Producer Rachel Sima also played through two Tactical Missions while offering insights into the game's turn-based card combat. You can watch an archive of the entire live stream below. Note that some characters and skins featured require unlocking via gameplay.
The stream afforded us an action-packed look at how some of the Midnight Suns heroes fight alongside each other, as well as at how you can improve and modify their abilities as you progress through the main story. For the first mission, damage-dealers Ghost Rider and Spider-Man teamed up with Nico Minoru, who can heal her allies while generating a lot of Heroism.
In case you're unfamiliar with Marvel's Midnight Suns' Heroism system, here's a quick explanation courtesy of Senior Franchise Producer Garth De Angelis:
"Heroism is the resource that your heroes use to unleash their signature and most powerful moves. You earn Heroism by playing less powerful abilities, thus building the capital to unload a pivotal, turn-the-tide onslaught. The best heroes know how to manipulate the battlefield to their advantage, so in addition to using Heroic abilities, you can use Heroism to perform bonus Environmental Attacks that don't spend any of your remaining Card Plays. Your heroes can vault off giant boulders to pound Hydra Mystics into the ground, kick dumpsters at Shadowhounds to send them flying, pull streetlamps down on top of Hydra Commandos - the battlefield is your playground!"
Knowing how and when to use Heroism is key, and is just one of the decisions you'll need to make each turn along with which ability cards to play and whether to reposition any of your heroes. That's after you've decided which heroes to bring into your next Tactical Mission, of course. Which Midnight Suns members' abilities are best-suited to the mission objective? Do any of your heroes' skill sets synergize particularly well? Should you play with favorites you've already leveled up or invest in different heroes who could prove useful in later missions?
The team selected for the second on-stream mission again included Ghost Rider, who this time fought alongside Blade, who employs Bleeding and Lifesteal status effects to deal additional damage and self-heal; and Captain America, who protects allies by taunting enemies into attacking him instead.
The heroes were leveled up before attempting this challenging mission, so not only were their Health and Offense stats higher, but they also had access to upgraded ability cards. Heroes can be upgraded by playing through the campaign. Here's Lead Designer Joe Weinhoffer to share more info on hero progression and ability upgrades:
"Every hero has multiple ways they can progress and improve their abilities over the course of the campaign. First, every hero has a character level that determines their Health and Offense in combat. Playing ability cards in combat for a hero will grant them XP, and eventually they will level up and improve their stats. The Offense stat affects the damage dealt by all of that hero’s ability cards, so more Offense is always better for more damage!
"The next step is to Upgrade an ability, which gives it a pre-determined boost in power. Every hero ability has an Upgrade, with bonuses including increased damage, reduced Heroism cost, additional status effects, bonus resource generation, and more. The Upgrades have all been designed to complement the hero’s overall ability kit and primary gameplay role. For example, Blade inherently applies a lot of Bleeding to enemies, so some of his Upgrades grant additional bonuses when targeting Bleeding enemies. It’s always a good idea to Upgrade hero ability cards to reach their full potential.
"Finally, once an ability has been upgraded, it can then gain a Mod as a final boost. Mods are similar gameplay bonuses to Upgrades, but aren’t specific to a given ability or hero – the Mod which appears on a given card is random. You may find a card with a minor Mod to give a slight damage boost or an incredibly powerful one which adds Knockback or makes a card Free!
"Mods provide that extra edge in combat, and since they are random, there is a ton of flexibility on how your version of Blade may differ from another player’s. Modded cards start appearing in Gamma Coils later in the game, or Mods can be directly added and rerolled in the Yard once the Crucible upgrade is constructed. You can reroll the Mods on each of a hero’s abilities until you have the perfect synergistic build."
In addition to answering questions from the community, the Firaxis trio confirmed that the four heroes joining the Midnight Suns roster in Season Pass DLC next year are Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm. The Season Pass is available as part of the Legendary Edition and is also available for individual purchase. We'll have more information to share on their respective in-game abilities next year. In the meantime, look out for the next Marvel's Midnight Suns Live Stream with Firaxis where members of the development team will be diving into a bunch of the fun things you'll be doing with your team of heroes when you're not in combat.

When they weren't preoccupied with beating down Hydra soldiers and the demonic forces of Lilith, they shared insights into the Midnight Suns roster of heroes, unlockable difficulty modes, and more. You can watch an archive of the entire live stream below.
While certain Marvel's Midnight Suns Tactical Missions require that a specific hero or heroes are present, most leave team selection entirely in your hands. For the first mission, the Firaxis folks opted for a well-rounded team featuring Captain Marvel, who can protect allies by taunting enemies; Blade, who grows stronger as he attacks baddies with ruthless precision; and Doctor Strange, who can use his magic to buff teammates and weaken opponents.
As you watch this Tactical Mission unfold, you might notice that not all of the Hydra enemies going toe-to-toe with the Midnight Suns on a New York street have health bars. That's because lowly Minions are beaten as soon as they sustain any damage while the more powerful Elite enemies typically require multiple attacks to defeat. You might also notice icons above the opposing force's heads corresponding to the heroes on the mission; these let you know which hero each of them is planning to attack next turn so you can react accordingly.
After successfully defeating the Hydra forces, our heroes headed to the Abbey, the secret base where, among other things, the Midnight Suns can upgrade their abilities, craft single-use items, and relax together to strengthen their relationships between missions. It's also where you'll select your next Tactical Mission using the Mirror Table in the War Room.
The heroes teamed up for the second mission during the stream included Iron Man, whose attacks can deal considerable damage from range; Wolverine, whose abilities include self-healing and taunting enemies; and Magik, who not only controls the battlefield by repositioning enemies, but can also open a portal through which to summon an additional hero from the Abbey for one turn. Lilith's forces were ultimately defeated, despite counting Hydra Mystics with the ability to summon demonic reinforcements among their number.

Brainy teenager Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider during a science experiment gone wrong. Somehow, the mishap imbued him with arachnid-related superhuman abilities: strength, agility, and new aptitudes for scaling walls and sensing danger. He soon engineered a pair of wrist-bound “web-shooters” that could fire sticky, incredibly strong strands and allow him to swing between buildings.
Then, when Peter refused to stop a burglar, his beloved uncle, who had raised him alongside Peter’s gentle-hearted aunt, was murdered. Realizing he must use his amazing abilities for good, Peter created a secret crime-fighting identity: the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Spider-Man’s rapid-fire agility allows him to attack enemies all over the battlefield without spending multiple actions, while his webs can bind enemies or yank them closer. He is also skilled at using the environment as a weapon, downing foes by slinging objects like crates, barrels, and electrical generators without spending the Heroism resource.

A scrawny Army reject at the outset of World War II, Steve Rogers became a powerful Super Hero and decorated veteran known as Captain America by the war’s end. Denied entrance into the armed forces due to his health, Steve realized his only hope of fighting for liberty and justice was to volunteer for a risky military science experiment. He was injected with Super-Soldier Serum and physically transformed into a powerful enemy of evil with legendary strength of body and spirit.
An accident near the end of the war left Captain America frozen in suspended animation until the modern day, making him at first a fish-out-of-water in much the same way as the newly-resurrected Hunter…with the additional complication of having more experience fighting Hydra than supernatural demon-kin. However, Cap’s eagerness to serve the good of humankind meant he didn’t hesitate to answer the call of the Midnight Suns.
Captain America soaks up damage intended for allies, taunting enemies to focus their fire on him and building up shielding to keep his own health bar from getting blitzed. However, because he also understands that sometimes the best defense is a good offense, some of Cap’s abilities allow him to convert the Block he’s generated into bonus damage.

This single-minded determination was born of tragedy: Blade’s human mother was murdered by a vampire’s bite during his birth. This heartbreak gave Blade the innate gifts that have allowed him to become a living weapon. Blade has used his enhanced abilities to master nearly every martial art and weapon form known to humankind, though he often favors the smooth speed of the katana.
Blade is able to deal vast amounts of devastating damage with grace and agility, easily alternating between ranged and melee attacks to dominate the battlefield. Humans have always feared witches, and anyone would have especially good reason to fear the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff. Wanda was born in the cursed Transian mountains and marked at birth by the sinister Elder God, Chthon, who sensed her potential to channel phenomenal arcane energy. This secret influence shattered the previous limits of Wanda’s abilities and truly unleashed her reality-altering chaos magic.
Wanting to control the power roiling inside her, Wanda turned to the tutelage of the ancient witch, Agatha Harkness. However, a tragic accident forced Wanda from the Abbey, and she now studies under the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. She is increasingly convinced that others have been right to fear her all along and that succumbing to her dark heritage is all but inevitable.
Scarlet Witch’s ranged powerset means she never has to come into direct contact with enemies and can instead hurl crippling area-of-effect attacks and debuffs from a caster-friendly distance. Any enemies that edge closer to Scarlet Witch will find that she's no easy target; the torrents of occult power swirling around her are just as damaging as those she slings from a distance. Her inner turmoil twisted her magic and led her down a path of darkness until she became a demi-goddess of evil. Minions can pose a deadly threat, especially in large numbers, but are defeated as soon as they take any source of damage – from a punch to being knocked into the environment. Elite enemies actually have health bars, and typically require multiple attacks to defeat. Bosses are the most powerful enemies in the game; they have the most health, deal the most damage, and have special abilities that make them formidable opponents even for a team of Midnight Suns heroes.
Minions and Elites have hero icons above their heads indicating which hero they plan to attack on their next turn. This empowers you to make informed decisions when prioritizing enemy targets or choosing which teammate to heal, for example. Bosses do not telegraph their attacks in this way, making them much harder to predict for counterplay.
In many missions, enemies will periodically summon reinforcementsat the end of their turn. These new waves of enemy forces are made up of Minions and Elites, and their intermittent arrivals may quickly overwhelm your squad if their growing numbers are ignored. Reinforcements can sometimes be stopped by completing a sub-objective; in other missions, fresh enemies will continue arriving until the mission ends. Nothing your handpicked team of heroes can't handle though, right?

As your relationships with members of the Midnight Suns grow, you'll unlock powerful combo abilities and passive bonuses that come into play when you fight alongside them. For example, Blade’s unlockable Cold-Blooded passive gives him a percentage chance to apply an additional debuff to any enemy he deals damage to.
There are a number of ways that you can increase your Friendship Levels with allies. You can spar with them in the Yard, compliment them, complete requests they make, or gift them items that you've purchased or found while exploring the Abbey and its grounds, for example. The responses you choose during conversations with other heroes can also affect your relationships, and not always in a good way. Understanding who your allies are and getting a feel for their likes and dislikes will make choosing gifts and conversations choices that they find agreeable much easier.
At the end of every in-game day you can also invite a hero to hang out with you. Perhaps you'd like to watch a movie with Magik or take a walk with Wolverine? Hanging out with heroes is a great way to deepen your Friendships with and discover their personal stories. You can find new Hangout opportunities at locations known as Havens by exploring the Abbey Grounds. Hangouts at Havens offer double the friendship benefits of other Hangouts, but each Haven can only be visited once during your campaign, so choose wisely.

After witnessing them murder a young girl, Nico allied with the other teenaged children of the Pride, disowned her parents, and ran away from home.
The depths of her parents’ corruption was revealed when Nico tried to rescue a friend captured by the Pride: her own mother tried to kill her by stabbing Nico with a magical staff. However, instead of being wounded, Nico’s body absorbed the weapon, removing it from her mother’s control as the teen’s own affinity for dark magic revealed itself for the first time. She is now a witch with near-boundless powers...except that her magic can be chaotic and unpredictable. Her powers bend to her will, preventing her from hurting an ally or healing an enemy, but precision can be challenging.

Most important in the “family” category will always be his disabled brother, Gabe, who Robbie helped raise, however, his other priorities were forced to shift when Robbie became possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance.
Many young men have played host to this hell-fueled alter-ego; Robbie is the latest and won’t be the last. Tony Stark and Doctor Strange work here to create improvements for the Midnight Suns team as well as for the Abbey itself.
As you upgrade the Forge, you'll be able to construct additional stations that offer other combat benefits. For example, building the Item Bench allows you to craft powerful, single-use items that can be taken into combat. Single-use items supplement your team's abilities with a variety of beneficial effects, such as allowing a Hero to taunt an enemy, heal an ally, draw additional Abilities, or gain an additional move. These items exist outside of your Ability pool, don’t cost an Ability play, and can be used at any time on your turn.
Initially the set of available combat items to craft is limited, but upgrading the Item Bench will unlock new, more powerful items. And while you start with only a single combat item slot, additional slots can be unlocked through Research. Meanwhile, constructing the Armory upgrade will generate special tactical challenge missions for each hero once they have forged strong friendships with the Hunter. Completing a hero’s challenge will award their Midnight Sun suit and Legendary ability.
The Forge is also where you can unlock any Gamma Coils and Artifact Containers that you've received as mission rewards. When Tony Stark extracts and manipulates the energy in a Gamma Coil, you get to choose one of three new Hero Abilities to create. Upgrading the Forge increases the number of Abilities you can choose and create from each Gamma Coil.
Artifact Containers hold mystical items that Hydra operatives stole from the Sanctum Sanctorum. Doctor Strange can use the power of the Forge to open these containers and reclaim the artifacts' power. These resources activate Research projects to unlock new facility upgrades for purchase, combat items for crafting, and more.

At the age of six, Magik was abducted by an immortal demon-lord, Mephisto, and imprisoned in Limbo to be his weapon. However, Magik’s tenacious spirit could not be broken. Actions such as picking up and throwing a crate, vaulting off a big rock to slam down on an enemy with extra force, or even toppling a lamppost down onto multiple enemies can all be very effective. To perform attacks like these, your heroes will need to be within reach of interactable Environmental objects, positioned to target enemies with them, and have the adequate amount of Heroism for activation.
Once per turn, you can use a Move action to reposition a hero. This is incredibly useful if you want to deploy a hero ability that deals damage to multiple enemies in a straight line or, if you're nearing the end of your turn, to put some distance between your heroes so that they can't all be hurt by an enemy's area-of-effect attack. Pay attention to your heroes' positioning, put their abilities to good use, and you'll be successfully completing missions in no time.\\n

Possessing bottomless cash reserves and a brilliant intellect, Tony Stark knows all about privilege. He has the resources to turn any challenge into a success, thanks to his own mind and the wealth from his father’s corporation. After a deadly bomb blast, he even transformed the shrapnel lodged in his chest and threatening his heart into a net-benefit; it pushed him to perfect not only his innovative Arc Reactor, but also a hi-tech suit of armor.
However, Tony is also aware of just how lucky he is…and is even a little conflicted about it. Of all the descriptors commonly applied to him—millionaire, playboy, genius—he’s decided he likes “hero” best. He wants to see his technology reshape the world, but unlike his father, he wants that change to be a positive one.
Iron Man has a gadget to counter every obstacle, and if he doesn’t, he simply invents a new one. In addition to annihilating enemy targets with precision repulsor beams, Iron Man’s abilities allow players to press their advantage by spending Redraw actions to give his abilities bonus effects.

Heroes can be equipped with up to eight Abilities each before heading into tactical missions, and in addition to having different rarities, each ability falls into one of three categories: Attack, Skill, or Heroic.
Attacks are primarily used to deal damage by directly targeting enemies and/or using Knockback to hurl enemies across the battlefield. Knockback attacks can deal extra damage when they send enemies careening into environmental objects, other enemies, or even allied heroes.
Skills don't typically deal any damage to enemies but provide a number of benefits on the battlefield. Depending on which heroes you're playing with, skills at your disposal might include healing members of your team, increasing the number of Abilities you can use during a turn, or stunning enemies to prevent them from taking any actions for a turn.
The most potent Abilities in your arsenal, Heroics can only be played once you've accumulated enough Heroism by playing Attack and Skill Abilities. Heroic Abilities have powerful effects on the battlefield and, in some cases, can be used to deal significant damage to multiple enemies simultaneously, wiping out entire enemy squads in a single strike.
At the start of each tactical mission, any Hero Combo Abilities you've unlocked by forging friendships with your allies will automatically be added to your pool. Hero Combos are powerful Abilities performed by two Heroes working together to attack a single target. These Abilities cost Heroism to activate and can only be played once per mission.
A standard turn during a tactical mission lets you use three Abilities, but if you choose to bring Abilities with you that are labeled as "Free" or which grant you additional actions, that number can increase. Abilities with the "Quick" keyword count as playing one of your three but that cost is refunded if you use them to successfully KO an enemy, for example. Note that before you commit to using an Ability, you have an opportunity to preview its effects so there's no guesswork involved when figuring out how much damage or which status effects you'll inflict on a target.
Not happy with the Abilities you have at your disposal? Twice per turn you have the option to Redraw, which lets you choose an Ability to discard and replace with a random one from your pool. Before ending your turn you can also perform Environmental attacks, which don't count towards your Abilities-used total but do cost Heroism, which you might be better off saving for a Heroic Ability on your next turn. Like so many things on the ever-changing battlefields of Marvel's Midnight Suns, that's a decision only you can make.
